Sandy
I am proud and excited to provide funds to purchase a bike for Hastings Cycling Without Age (CWA), in memory of my beloved wife “Sandy.”
She was born in Winona, worked her way to Hastings where she retired from work after 30 years at Koch Refinery.
We enjoyed 36 wonderful years of marriage, living just off the bike path South of the Vermillion River. She was very active walking and biking and enjoyed playing tennis. She was always very helpful to people and was an all around great lady!
Sandy died at the early age of 71 due to dementia. In the later stages of this disease, she lived at Regina Care Center. When visiting her I would always comment that “these people need to get out.”
I am grateful for this program and the volunteers that help run It! That is why I have chosen to support CWA. I love seeing the bikes pass on the bike trail from my back yard and is a great reminder of Sandy. If she were here and healthy, she would be one of the first ones to volunteer as a pilot!
